Series 1: James May was recently introduced to the online phenomenon of ‘Dull Men’s’ forums, a place where men (and some women) ask questions most of us never thought to ask: “Can you cook dinner in your washing machine whilst cleaning your whites?
... “Is it possible to solve Britain’s pothole problem once and for all?”
These so-called ‘boring blokes’ tinker away in their sheds, dreaming up solutions to problems like these. But James also has a shed, and he too spends a lot of time thinking about how small feats of engineering and ingenuity could solve our everyday irks…Now, from his home, shed and the pub he owns in Wiltshire, James embarks on a glorious ‘summer of dull’.
Immersing himself in the threads on these forums, he’ll seek to create his own ‘genius’ solutions and prove that these ‘mundane men’ are in fact, anything but dull.
Series 2: James May returns with a brand-new series, taking on the everyday frustrations that unite a nation in grumbles. From his Wiltshire home, his pub, and most importantly his shed, James sets out to dream up imaginative fixes for the problems blighting Britain and stirring up public annoyance.
Armed with his trademark wit and curiosity – and joined once again by his engineer sidekick Sim and series favourite Tony “The Tool” – James dives into a fresh set of challenges. Whether it’s tackling practical irritations or exploring the country’s bigger gripes, this inventive trio use humour, creativity, and a shed-load of tools to prove that no problem is too small (or too ridiculous) to try and solve.
Witty, inventive and packed with surprising solutions, this new series is a celebration of British ingenuity and the joy of tinkering. | Download flyer
