Hosted by internationally acclaimed chef, television presenter and author Kylie Kwong, each episode of Every Bite Takes You Home invites you to share in the journeys of remarkable refugees and migrants who have found a home in Australia.

Each... person’s unique story, blended with the memories of their favourite recipes and traditions, reminds us that food can unite us all, generating acceptance and understanding across diverse cultures and societies.

Based on the beautiful book of the same name this series (10 x 30 min) takes us on an incredible journey through multicultural Australia.

Living among us in every city and town are people with incredible stories of survival and bravery. Many fled life threatening wars and brutal regimes to find safety and solace in new countries, like Australia.

They often arrived with nothing but the clothes on their back. One thing they did have is memories, and those memories are brought to life through food. A link to home and an incredible important sharing of cultural identity among family and friends.

Each episode will feature a refugee or migrant (and their family) who’ve kept their own cuisine alive from those recipes embedded in their memory.

They’ll share the story of how they travelled to Australia, often facing life-threatening
situations and heart breaking decisions to leave their country.

With the help of their children, grand-children and friends, they’ll unravel the story of their new lives in Australia and cook three very special dishes explaining the story and significance behind the food they prepare.

The colours, flavours and dramatic story lend themselves to a beautifully shot and produced half hour. We will bring their dishes to life with the production values they deserve.
