Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstalls healthy eating brand revived with Keo Films

Channel 4 has ordered a River Cottage reboot from Keo Films.

Keo Films is behind 4 x 50-minute series River Cottage Reunited, which will revive Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstalls back-to-basics food brand more than 20 years since the show made its debut.

Filmed in the River Cottage smallholding in east Devon, the More 4 show will follow Fearnley-Whittingstall and his team, which includes forager John Wright and fire-cook Gill Mellor, as they tend the garden, while looking after hens, piglets and baby goats.

It will also include a campaign to protect woodlands by encouraging people to eat more venison and show viewers how to grow, prepare and cook fresh food using, wild ingredients, sea vegetables and fish and shellfish.

River Cottage Reunited has been ordered by head of docs Anna Miralis who said: The original shows have spawned dozens of imitators down the years, and so we are proud to bring back the original and best.

Keo exec producer Andrew Palmer added: To have River Cottage return is reassuring in itself, but it also brings with it the opportunity for reinventing our cooking and outdoor living. Hughs been exploring these issues in his telly shows for over 20 years, but hes still looking forward for new ways of doing things that make life better and more delicious.

The series is directed and produced by Michelle Crawley and Richard Hill and will air in June.
