BBC ACQUIRES CNN'S AMERICAN VERSION OF HAVE I GOT NEWS FOR YOU

As the American election heats up, CNN's new 10-part series 'Have I Got News For You US takes a weekly look at the US news coverage.

Produced by Hat Trick Productions for CNN Originals, its premiere episode was filmed in New York last week (Friday 13th September), and first aired on CNN on Saturday 14th September.

The BBC can now confirm that Have I Got News For You US will air on BBC Two, with its premiere episode airing on the channel tonight (Wednesday 18th September) at 11.00pm. Each of the ten weekly episodes will air on Wednesdays on BBC Two. The weekly episodes will also be available to stream on BBC iPlayer.

In this new American version of the long running BBC satirical entertainment show, the host is Roy Wood Jr., comedian, Emmy-nominated documentary producer and correspondent for The Daily Show from 2015 - 2023.

Roy is joined by two team captains: writer, comedian and performer Amber Ruffin (Late Night with Seth Myers, The Amber Ruffin Show) and actor, writer and comedian Michael Ian Black (Viva Variety, Michael & Michael Have Issues).

Joining in the fun as panellists for episode 1 are comedian Robin Thede and journalist Matt Welch, as they delve into the week's news from the US.

Executive Producers for Have I Got News For You US are Jimmy Mulville, Richard Wilson and Jim Biederman.

The BBC have today also confirmed that the new 68th series of the UK original Have I Got News For You will air on BBC One from Friday 4th October.
